Canon G1X vs. Fuji X10 Sample Comparison

on March 15th, 2012 1 Comment

Two weeks ago at the PiPho Coffee EB in Bonifacio Highstreet,  Jojo “sixpack” brought his brand spanking new Canon G1x. It was the star of the night aside from the 8-15 Lens “Shuttercat” brought. There were 2 Fuji X10 present, mine and “Joszef” I took the liberty to borrow Jojo’s camera to try it out.

Knowing G1X’s limitations the only option shooting with it at that time is bumping its ISO. Lo and behold the bigger sensor of the Canon beats the Fuji X10, contrast, color and noise. But I’m still not sold to the idea of its small aperture lens. Shooting static subjects will not be a problem but with similar lighting conditions and moving people as subject the 1/10 shutter speed will be frustrating. Even if you bump it to ISO 6400 it will still be at 1/20 it will be a hit and miss.

I’ve uploaded here the hi-res original files for you to examine. (Take note focal length is different)
