We know that its quite silly to read the title of this post but technology has gone so far that our compact cameras are quite irrelevant these days. We came across to this blog post on Twitter. The 8MP Apple iPhone 4s smartphone shooting jewelries. They used the respectable Camera+ app and Modahaus light diffusers. The unreleased OM-D EM-5 camera from Olympus announced one of the best looking underwater casing we’ve seen. This underwater casing can only be used with the 14-42mm kit lens and it can only dive up to 45 meters below. The PT-EP08 can be had for P58,000+ of course without tax this coming July, if it lands in the shore of the Philippines expect the price to be (maybe) as twice. Leica Japan announced a limited edition M9-P for 2,620,000 Yen (US$31,770) or P1,364,839.20 at current exchange rate. This is going to perfectly match your white smartphone but you need to sell your white house in order to be one of the 50 who can own this sparkling camera from Leica. We are wondering who is the lucky Pinoy who will be one of the few gifted of golden bread$. Via Engadget
It’s beautiful ain’t it? I’m now salivating the idea that my EF-50mm f1.2 is on that beauty. Unluckily this is just a fantasy, a 3D rendition by the talented designer David Riesenberg. The mockup rendition was based from the classic Canon AE series. David is skeptical about Canon going back to this retro design as he told me from our email exchange. Will Canon be releasing one? We don’t know, but what I’m pretty sure is that they want a slice of the Mirrorless pie. See and read David’s full post.

Vince Laforet who directed and shot the viral video “Reverie” which is the first 5D Mark II short film showcasing the potential of HDDSLR film making. Vince posted on his blog his proven settings in shooting with the 5D Mark II through the years. A month ago I decided to put this piece on the ideal way to set up your Canon 5D MKII for video. I had an inclination that the release of the 5D MKIII was imminent – but these settings and principles behind them (although the menus will change) will more than likely apply just as well to that camera.
