World’s First Digital Compact Full Frame Camera – Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX1

Sony just announced its 35mm sensor full frame camera in a true compact body making it the world’s first digital camera to have such sensor and size combo. It has the Exmor 24.3 megapixels sensor found on bigger Sony Alpha cameras that is expected to deliver the same detail and clarity. The camera has a fixed non-interchangeable Carl-Zeiss Sonnar T* 35mm F2.0 prime lens with macro mode that will surely be receiving a nod from some photographers.

If you are ready to be one of the first to have this camera then Sony said it will be sold for US$2,799 or at a whopping P116,xxx Philippine money. The company said that the RX1 will be available this December in Europe so expect it to be available in our local shelves probably after a month, we’ll announce if we can get an official statement from Sony Philippines.

  • 24.3 effective megapixels, Exmor CMOS sensor
  • 35mm F2.0 Carl-Zeiss Sonnar T* lens
  • ISO 100 – 25,600
  • 5 FPS burst shooting mode
  • Full HD video with 24p / 25p / 50p/ 60p frame rates
  • Can accept add-on accessories
